UnderHill farm this month obtained a medium term goal of going off grid with an increased solar capacity. A 1,000 amp hour battery pack, a total of 24 x 350 watt solar panels and 3 inverters now makes sure that each of the 3 cottages will be off grid in all but the worst of weather. 

There remains an Eskom back up for the near future until the system has been tried and tested for at least a year. But nevertheless, this is a big step for us in going 100% sustainable.
