The ground has been cleared for the next cottage – Willow Cottage at the far end of the farm, close to where the two streams come together.

Alien trees have been uprooted (Port Jackson and black wattle), and the tree trunks are used for building steps and the branches will go through a chipper and form the foundation layer on the bank below where a green lawn will be established (transplanted from around the olive trees).

Permaculture building means everything needs to be reused, the worst location on a property is used for building (in this case a heavily overgrown patch of stream frontage choaked with alien invaders), and the land takes precidence over the building and buidling is carefully planned to take adventage of winter sun and natural shade in summer to reduce heating and cooling costs.
